Hi guys,
I've just built my audio cable and tried out chan_celliax.
It works great !!!!!! Correct call indication signalling and DTMF transport !!
Fair audio quality using a very old and used Moto C350.
Thanks Giovanni.
I only have an annoying echo problem on the sip side of the call.
Already checked chan_oss and chan_alsa in modules.conf
It seems not to be an acoustic echo problem.
Should I try a different sound card ?? (it'a an embedded VIA chipset sound card).
Thank you very much again...
Ciao a tutti,
Massimo.
Ciao Massimo, don't worry,
Ciao Massimo,
don't worry, I'm almost sure the soundcard is perfectly OK, I used them lot of times...
can you give much more details?
celliax version?
configuration?
which SIP phone?
etc etc etc?
Have you tried to lower the capture volume on alsamixer to the minimum? And to lower the value of capture_boost on celliax.conf? (capture_boost can go from -40 to 40)
Also, can you describe more what happens?
Ciao for now,
Giovanni
Ciao Giovanni, I'm back
Ciao Giovanni,
I'm back after a pair relax days ;)
Well, I've tried out SVN chan_celliax (have I to specify better the version ??) with asterisk 1.4.10.1
Chan_celliax config is simply your sample celliax.conf
Mobo is a MiniITX Via C7 1.2 Ghz blah...blah... sound card is the common Via chipset one.
I've tried these sip phones: Snom 360, Gxp 2000, Thomson ST2030 and Zoiper soft phone.
Chan_celliax works great, no problem at all. No strange consolle messages nor logs.
The problem is that I always hear my voice echoed in the phone. Other party hears no echo and feel a good sound quality.
I hear echo almost... always. Obviously lowering down volume (with alsamixer and capture_boost parameter) echo gets lower,
but at an acceptable volume I hear echo.
I've tried almost any boost (capture and playback) and mixer combination without an acceptable result. Always echo or too low volume.
Maybe have I built a crappy sound cable ?? My tester says that cable is ok.
Any suggestion would really be appreciated.
Ciao a tutti e BUON FERRAGOSTO :) .
Massimo.
p.s.
can you explain me the sense of at commands like ATCIAPA or ATCUCU :) (maybe: ciapa qua telefono del m.... ?? :) )
ATCIAPA and ATCUCU are
ATCIAPA and ATCUCU are special esoteric AT commands for satellite phones, very expensive models. ;-)
1) in alsamixer -V all, you have the MIC column muted?
2) how is exactly the communication: [remotephone -> celliaxcellphone -> SIP] or [SIP -> celliaxcellphone -> remotephone] ?
3) have you tried both?
4) have you tried bizarre and esoteric settings of alsamixer (you can switch between different views by F3 F4 and F5, and they are not always views of the same data or functionalities)
5) maybe some mix setting inside alsamixer?
I'll be away for some 4-5 days starting tomorrow :)
