Original sound returned

Hello!

I'm having a little problem with Celliax. When making an outgoing call with Celliax the person calling hears themself (with a small delay) via their headset.

Little technical info:
- Fedora Core Release 6
- kernel 2.6.22.5-49.fc6
- asterisk 1.4.9-43.1.fc6
- alsa 1.0.14-0.1.rc1.fc6
- Celliax SVN version from 11 september
- Cellphone Motorola C350
- on-board soundcard nVidia Corporation CK804 AC'97 Audio Controller

I've tried adjusting alsamixer settings, but with no luck. The only way to make the "echo" stop is to turn down the outgoing sound, but that's not desirable because the person on the other end of Celliax will have bad sound then.

I'm actually thinking it's a problem of the cellphone, but before I go there I'd like to hear if you have any other ideas as to what could cause this.

With regards,
Jan Middelkoop

more info please

Ciao Jan,

before to delve into things, check those two:
1) is the "Mic" muted in alsamixer? (it has to be muted, or it loops back. You can mute it by pressing "m" on its column. It is the "Capture" column that get the sounds incoming)
2) is the cellphone properly sensing the audiocable and shutting down the cellphone mic and speaker? (you can test this by tapping on the cellphone during a call)

If those are not problems, please write:
a) what is the flow? (I mean, an explanation like: (SIP call via softphone) -> Asterisk -> (celliax) -> (remote phone) SIP here himself
b) all other useful (and unuseful ;-) ) details

Giovanni
